Off-Duty TX Firefighter, Deputy Shot at Fair

The suspect was shot after he fired on deputies at the fair in Amarillo.

 An off-duty firefighter and a deputy were among three shot at a fair in Amarillo late Monday night.

The gunman was shot and wounded by other deputies, ABC13 reported.

The injured responders as well as a civilian are expected to be OK.

The Potter County deputy and the firefighter were working off-duty at the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo, Sheriff Brian Thomas told reporters adding that the man opened fire at the officers.

The suspect was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing
